Hi there. I have a question please. Maybe, someone here can help me out. It's about old Telephones. THANKS BEFORHAND. First of all: I know this is JUST a TV Series. (Albeit a very classic Series.) So we should not take everything too seriously. Furthermore this Show was designd deliberately... "campy." But: I loved this Show. And I still do. Adam West was my Hero. That being said my Question is about the old Telephhone... Because in reality.... how does very, very old phones from the 1960 - 1970 work? As I understand, when you live in a House, and you would have 2 Phones. They would still had the same Number becaues old phones were linked to each other if they are in the same place / house / apartment / whatever. So Batman used the second Phone to listen in on the conversation. So the Joker called the Commissioner in his Office, as we saw, and Gordon answere the Call and they beginn to talk, then Batman comes in takes the Second Phone and listen in to the Conversation (even if they are in the same room) and Joker thinks Batman is in the Commissioners Office because he hears Batman OVER the Telephone. But then the Joker hangs up angrily. But Batman does not hang up, he only places the Speaker on the Desk, witout hanging up, so I guess the call is still connected to the Office of Gordon. Otherwise why would he be able to hear what's going on. Or is this only... fiction? If Batman would not have picked up the Second Phone, and Joker would have hang up the Call would have been ended / terminated. But since Batman did use the Second Phone but later did not hang up, but just placed the earphone on the Table, I guess the Call is still... "going on". I guess both Phones / Lines / whatever, has to be hung up. I assume if Batmans Line is not hung up the call is not "closed" and he is still connected or? Even if the INITIAL, FIRST, outgoing call was made from Jokers Phone. I believe old Phone has the same Number and same Line, so I guess beause Batman did not hang up the call was still in place, right? I know, I know I am nitpicking, but this old... Fun Fact / Trivia, was always wondering me. Is this real or fiction, how old Phone workes. Was the Depiction right? How could Gorden and O'Hara still hear them if Joker hung up? THANKS for the Help. Just aksing, nothing serious. Just curious.

Caesar Romero's Joker is so underrated. Every time I watch a clip of him, I'm reminded of just how good he was. I think the goofy nature of the 60's Batman sells him a little short.

Joker used to scare me when I watched this Batman TV series as a kid. Still does...

Cesar Romero had an interesting life, and a very long career. ALthough he was never a leading man, he was a reliable sidekick, foil, adversary...and he played his Joker to the hilt. Sure, the series was campy, but as a six-year-old way back when, I thought it was great. And Romero was a huge part of that show being great.
